Hiraeth's First EP : Souls is an elegy in the memory of those who lost their home, or who lost the feeling of being home. The sorrow and grief is transfigured in three songs that recreate the memory of an old wanderer who seeks peace within his soul, and a new home. Before the crossroads is the opening track of the EP, marking the passing of the wanderer through a forest in which death reigns, in the incarnation of a crow king that feasts upon the souls of the damned. The second and the third track, Rivers and Tomb Of Souls resembles the memories of the wanderer, how he lost his home town and how his dearest people failed and became tombs of souls against society despite his efforts. The elegy ends with the wanderer sailing a river to a lighthouse in which he finds wisdom, peace and tranquillity, as he becomes one with the light and the water and finds himself a new home.
